WHEN TO SUBMIT AN UPDATE

The update should be submitted as soon as the provider is aware that there is new research or change in best practice that should be included in the accredited learning activity.

Updates are often conducted at the time of an activity Renewal or Extension. The Renewal of Accreditation Form, as well as the Extension of Accreditaton Form, asks the provider to confirm that the content of the learning activity is still current. If not, the provider is asked to update the activity and submit the updated content with the renewal or extension application.

UPDATE PROCESS

The process to update an activity depends on whether you do the update as part of the renewal or extension of the learning activity accreditation or if you do it at another time.

Updating an Activity as part of a RENEWAL or EXTENSION of Accreditation

1. Prepare and compile the learning activity documents:

  •    Revised Learning Activity text/content and a document outlining the changes that have been made. Marking the changes within the revised content document is acceptable.
  •    Revised Learner assessment/Post Test and answer key/marking rubric (if updates were made)
  •    Other learning activity documents (any previously submitted documents to which revisions were made)

2. Prepare and compile the required forms:

  •    Disclosure forms (for individuals involved in revision)
  •    Expert Review Report(s), document listing comments by the reviewers and the author(s) response. If combining an update with a Renewal, one expert reviewer is required. If combining an update with an Extension two expert reviewers are required (to meet the Extension application requirements).

3. Log-in to your provider work area and follow the process to renew or extend your learning activity.
