Pamela Timanson Appointed to CCCEP Board of Directors

September 26, 2017 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Effective today, Pamela Timanson, Competence Director for the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP). Ms. Timanson replaces Debbie Lee who served as the ACP representative to the Board from 2012 to 2017.

In addition to her position with the Alberta College of Pharmacists, Ms. Timanson is also an Adjunct Professor with the Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta. Prior to her employment with the College, she was a High School Science teacher for 12 years. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s of Education (Workplace and Adult Learning) from the University of Calgary, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education Administration and Leadership at the University of Alberta. Her doctoral research focused on the examination of how teachers learn informally within the knowledge culture of their workplace.

“I am excited for the opportunities to work with pharmacy professionals and apply the elements of my educational training, research and teaching experience to my role as a Board member for CCCEP,” said Ms. Timanson.

CCCEP’s President Phil Emberley affirmed Ms. Timanson’s sentiment. “Our Board is made up individuals who bring an exceptional mix of educational and professional backgrounds,” he began. “We are delighted to welcome Pam to our Board and look forward to her contribution to our collective knowledge as a result her training and experience.”

The Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) is a national organization established to accredit continuing pharmacy education programs intended to be delivered to pharmacy professionals from more than one province or nationally.

CCCEP accreditation is recognized by the pharmacy regulatory authorities in all provinces and territories of Canada.
