New Appointment to the Board of Directors

May 31, 2022, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador – The Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) appointed a new Director at its recent Annual General Meeting. Effective May 19, 2022, Janet MacDonnell was elected to the Board of Directors of CCCEP as the representative for the Canadian Pharmacists Association, replacing Amanda Ung.  

Janet MacDonnell is the Interim Director of Professional Affairs at the Canadian Pharmacists Association.  Ms. MacDonnell has had a diverse career in the pharmacy profession. She has operated community pharmacies, provided consulting services, served as privacy champion and on a public health vaccine task force. Throughout her career Janet has been actively involved with the pharmacy regulatory and advocacy bodies in New Brunswick and has also served on the board of the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada. She has received several pharmacy related awards, including the Bowl of Hygiea. Ms. MacDonnell graduated from Dalhousie University in 1986 with a BSc. Pharm.

“I am delighted to join the Board of Directors of CCCEP!” said Ms. MacDonnell, noting that “I look forward to bringing my experience and background to the table, and take insight from the other incredible professionals that are part of this Board as together we work to fulfill CCCEP’s Vision”.

CCCEP’s President Ashifa Keshavji welcomed the Ms. MacDonnell to the Board, noting “It is such a pleasure to have Janet join the CCCEP Board. The Board’s strength comes from having Directors whose expertise and experiences complement each other. I am confident she will add further strength to the Board as we continue our efforts to strengthen CCCEP and move the organization forward.”.
