Certina Ho Elected to CCCEP Board of Directors

December 19, 2018 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Effective November 30, Certina Ho, Experiential Education Coordinator at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto was elected to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) as the representative of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada (AFPC). Ms. Ho replaces Glenda MacDonald who served as the AFPC representative to the Board from 2014 to 2018.

In addition to her work with the University of Toronto, Ms. Ho is a Project Manager at the Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy, University of Waterloo. She has experience in community pharmacy practice and management of internet health content. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and graduate degrees in Library and Information Science and in Education.

“I am excited for the opportunities to work with the Directors from across Canada and apply the knowledge gained from my work, research and educational experiences to my role as a Board member for CCCEP,” said Ms. Ho.

CCCEP’s President Michelle Wyand affirmed Ms. Ho’s sentiment. “Our Board is made up individuals who bring an exceptional mix of educational and professional backgrounds,” she began. “We are delighted to welcome Certina to our Board. She brings a wealth of knowledge on experiential education and medication safety, along with her broad experience in pharmacy and pharmacy regulation.”

The Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) is a national organization established to accredit continuing pharmacy education programs intended to be delivered to pharmacy professionals from more than one province or nationally.

CCCEP accreditation is recognized by the pharmacy regulatory authorities in all provinces and territories of Canada.
