CCCEP Welcomes Jackie Abraham to Board of Directors

May 31, 2018 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – The Board of Directors for the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jackie Abraham as a Board Director. As of today, Ms. Abraham steps into her role on the Board as the new representative for the Canadian Pharmacy Technician Educators Association (CPTEA).

Ms. Abraham received her pharmacy technician diploma in 2005 and since that time worked in a variety of settings using her training and experience. In addition to working as a pharmacy technician in a retail setting, Ms. Abraham’s professional experience includes the dual roles of instructor and coordinator for pharmacy technician programs. She also lends her time as a volunteer to pharmacy organizations such as the Canadian Council for the Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), where she is a member of the Accreditation Committee for Pharmacy Technician Programs, and the Canadian Pharmacy Technician Educators Association, where she sits as the Manitoba representative to the Board.

“Like many of our Board members, Jackie brings an excellent range of skills and experience to the table,” said Phil Emberley. “Jackie’s ability to examine issues through the lens of both a practitioner and an educator will ultimately benefit our Board and the work that we have set out to accomplish as part of our strategic plan.

When not volunteering with pharmacy professional organizations, Ms. Abraham can be found at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology’s Pharmacy Technician Program in the positions of program lead and program instructor. She is also pursuing studies to obtain her Bachelor of Education through Westcliff University (Irvine, California) concurrently with Technical Vocational Education training through Red River College (Winnipeg, Manitoba).

The Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) is a national organization established to accredit continuing pharmacy education programs intended to be delivered to pharmacy professionals from more than one province or nationally.

CCCEP accreditation is recognized by the pharmacy regulatory authorities in all provinces and territories of Canada.
